Hudson Global, Inc. has announced that it will officially change its name to Star Equity Holdings, Inc., effective 5 September 2025. The rebrand follows Hudson’s recent merger with Star Operating Companies, which was finalised on 22 August 2025.
As part of the change, Hudson’s stock tickers on NASDAQ will also be updated. The company’s common stock will move from HSON to STRR, and its preferred stock will move from HSONP to STRRP. Shareholders are not required to take any action in response to these updates.
Strategic shift
The new name reflects the company’s repositioning as a diversified holding group rather than a standalone recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) provider. Star Equity Holdings will focus on building a platform of businesses with strong fundamentals, aiming for long-term growth beyond Hudson’s traditional talent solutions.
Leadership and operations
The combined business will be led by CEO Jeff Eberwein, supported by:
- Rick Coleman, Chief Operating Officer
- Matt Diamond, Chief Accounting Officer
- Hannah Bible, Chief Legal Officer
- Shawn Miles, Executive Vice President – Finance
Following the merger, the organisation reports pro-forma annualised revenues of around US$210 million.
While Hudson RPO will continue to deliver recruitment outsourcing services under the new parent entity, the rebrand signals a strategic broadening of scope. For clients and partners, this may translate to:
- Greater scale and resources, supporting innovation in workforce solutions
- A diversified business model, reducing reliance on a single service line
- Administrative updates, as contracts and communications gradually adopt the Star Equity Holdings name
The rebrand highlights an ongoing trend of consolidation and diversification within the staffing and recruitment sector, as firms adapt to shifting client needs and market pressures.
