Why Hire Note is partnering with Floats.ai
The PDF CV era is over. Here’s the tool helping Australian recruiters move on
Here at Hire Note, we cover the tools, trends and news that matter to the Australian recruitment industry. So when a platform lands on our radar that’s genuinely built to solve the daily frustrations of agency recruiters – not just bolted together by people who’ve never worked a desk, it gets our attention.
Floats.ai is exactly that kind of product, and we’re thrilled to announce them as a Hire Note sponsor.
What is Floats.ai?
Floats describes itself as “the intelligent presentation layer on top of your ATS” which is a clean way of saying it solves a problem most recruiters are very familiar with and most don’t do well: the clunky, outdated experience of sharing candidates and jobs via PDF attachments and email blasts.
The platform lets recruiters replace static CVs and job ads with clean, interactive links. A candidate profile becomes a branded, shareable page. A spec CV becomes a trackable beautifully presented float. A job ad becomes a live, linked asset that can be sent anywhere: email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and better still, monitored for engagement.
The core product suite covers five main areas:
AI Candidate Presentation transforms CVs into modern, branded digital profiles that recruiters share via link rather than attachment. Clients get a far better experience, recruiters get read receipts and engagement data, and everyone stops drowning in PDF versions of versions.
AI Reverse Marketing is the tool that caught our eye the most. Agency recruiters who do spec work, sending promising candidates proactively to clients before a role exists, will understand how labour intensive that process usually is. Floats.ai reduces it dramatically: pull in an existing CV, let the AI generate a polished spec float, push it out as a trackable link, and follow up when you can see it’s been opened. One recruiter quoted on their site landed ten new client meetings in two months with previously cold contacts. It’s a compelling use case.
SOLA, their AI Sidekick, is their broader AI assistant, which is currently in beta and designed to handle the grunt work of matching, email drafting, scheduling and market research. Think of it as a junior researcher or resourcer who never sleeps and doesn’t need lunch.
AI Job Ads lets you paste a brief and generate a branded, shareable job ad in seconds. For agency managers drowning in ad writing across multiple clients and roles, the time saving is real. Especially if you want to stand out and not churn the same job ad jargon that makes sense to those hiring but not to those you are trying to attract.
Integrations round it out: Floats.ai connects to over 66 ATS platforms, including JobAdder, Bullhorn, Vincere, Mercury and Workday. For most Australian agencies, that means it plugs straight into what you’re already running.
Who built it?
This matters to us and it should matter to you.
Floats was co-founded by Shaun Henry and Scott Anderson – Shaun from a recruiting background, Scott from software engineering and a career as a CTO and hiring manager. Between them, they’ve sat on both sides of the recruitment process: the consultant sending CVs into the void, and the hiring manager on the receiving end, wondering why they’re drowning in PDFs. That origin shows in the product: the use cases are specific, the language is right and relevant to our sector, and the testimonials come from real recruiters including Kappa Executive in Sydney, who have moved 100% of their submissions to Floats and report 3 x faster client feedback as a result.
Why we’re working with them
Hire Note exists to give the Australian recruitment industry a sharp, independent voice. Our readers are recruiters, agency owners and industry professionals who take their craft seriously. We only partner with suppliers who are building things or improving the sector and that genuinely serve that audience.
Floats.ai meets that standard. If you’re running an agency and still relying on PDFs and email chains for candidate delivery, it’s worth twenty minutes of your time to see what a modern alternative looks like.
