The Adecco Group, the world’s second-largest staffing firm, has announced the creation of a new company in collaboration with Salesforce. This strategic partnership aims to revolutionise workforce management by integrating human workers and AI agents into cohesive teams. Backed by investments from both companies, the initiative seeks to help organisations plan, deploy, and manage human and digital talent at scale.
Leveraging Adecco’s workforce expertise and Salesforce’s Agentforce platform—a digital labour solution designed to integrate autonomous AI agents into business operations—the new company will empower businesses to optimise collaboration between human employees and AI systems. The platform will utilise customer data and dynamic modelling to provide actionable insights for workforce planning, operational efficiency, and automation decisions.
Denis Machuel, CEO of Adecco Group, emphasised the importance of this venture in shaping the future of work.“We are at a critical juncture for workforce evolution. By adopting AI strategically and fostering collaboration between humans and digital agents, businesses can unlock unprecedented efficiency and innovation,” Machuel said.
The launch follows Salesforce’s December 2024 announcement that Adecco would implement its Agentforce AI agents to scale recruitment efforts. Agentforce enables organisations to streamline operations by deploying autonomous AI agents capable of handling complex tasks with precision. These agents are accessible through platforms like Slack and listed on AgentExchange, a marketplace for discovering and deploying AI solutions.
John Nurthen, executive director of global research at Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), noted that staffing firms must adapt to the growing role of AI in the labour market. “Agentic AI is driving this transformation, and Adecco’s move signals a broader trend amongst staffing firms embracing artificial intelligence as part of their service offerings,” Nurthen stated.
The new company will provide tools for senior leaders to make data-driven decisions on workforce allocation while enabling simulations for scenarios such as demand surges or mergers. It also aims to deliver real-time recommendations for resource optimisation and ROI-driven automation strategies.
Salesforce EVP Brian Landsman highlighted the broader vision behind the partnership:
“This company exemplifies how leaders can use data-driven approaches to create digital labour models that unlock human potential alongside AI agents.”
Further details about the new company are expected in the coming months as Adecco Group and Salesforce continue to refine their joint strategy in the $6 trillion digital labour market.
